At the heart of our EC3 platform is our Collaborative Resource Planning, or CRP, system. Given that the ERP is the nerve center of most supply chains, a blockchain platform can be effective only if it integrates with these systems. At the same time, there needs to be a bridge between the functionality of existing systems and the applications on the platform. That was the inspiration for our CRP, which essentially allows members of a supply chain ecosystem to collaborate on a decentralized ERP. The CRP is also able to take in data from sources outside of an ERP, such as our mobile app, a standalone supply chain management tool, Excel spreadsheets or even a customized user interface that is native to the CRP.
Once data passes into the CRP, it is validated and logged onto the blockchain, where it can then be used in our platform’s three main applications: the Event Broadcaster, the Contract Builder and the BOM Buyer. Each application is designed for maximum flexibility so that its functionality can be expanded in a modular manner for specific use cases.
Examples of modules include the Shipment Broadcaster (for tracking goods across logistics operations), the Trade Builder (for blockchain-based letters of credit) and Blockchain Inventory Financing (for financing of the production process itself before an invoice is issued to the buyer). The three core technologies that power these applications are Popcodes, Brackets and ZK Collaboration. Popcodes is our traceability platform. Brackets is our smart contracts platform, and ZK Collaboration is a key feature that allows for collaboration across a blockchain ecosystem while keeping sensitive data encrypted.
